☆ Thanks again for all of the congratulations, everybody. <3 I'm still relieved that I managed the license, honestly. (Though I will be more relieved when I receive the physical license... Canada Post, please be fast. :T)
☆ Another new thing: I figured out my local library's inter-library loan system. WONDEFUL. I've never had to use ILL - even in university, I never put in a single ILL request (somehow, I managed to get by with just what the school library had - I don't know how I did it). But now, I've become grumpy with the library not having what I wanted... so. ;p It was kind of scary! I had to actually talk to a person! (Shh.) But in a couple of weeks, I will have The Years of Rice and Salt in my hot little hands. ;p And this is just the beginning....~
☆ Exchanges:
everywoman has a schedule up* and will be opening noms on May 25th.
raremaleslashex is currently in noms stages* and signups will open May 23rd. Perhaps some of you would be interested! I've enjoyed these in the past, but I'm still in a prose slump, and don't think I could manage something exchange-worthy. But I keep thinking of pairings that I would add to the RMS tagset if I were planning to participate... Maybe I should make a list and write poetry about them instead. ;)
☆ Speaking of poetry, man, it always makes me so happy when I hear that my writing has punched somebody with ~feelings~. It's good to know that I'm not the only one feeling that way - and that I didn't go too far over-the-top with whatever it is. Just the right amount.
☆ [Fic rec]: For those of you who have seen Red Cliff, I suggest Glitterburn's Heaven's Earth series. I've been slowly making my way through it, and man, is it good. Only read the first four so far, but I'm sure the rest of it is great too. Author's summary is as follows:
Sun Quan and Zhuge Liang, the duke and the strategist. Two men brought together by war and necessity strive to untangle their attraction for one another.
...In other words, it's Sun Quan/Zhuge Liang. It's a 6-part series, and ratings + lengths vary. And the writing in this series is really lovely. Worth a look if you're familiar with the film, or maybe even if you aren't.
☆ Long weekend coming up... ahhh, I can hardly wait. Should start looking up bread recipes, hmm. *_*
