Reading Wednesday
Feb. 12th, 2020 06:20 pmIt's been very cold these last couple of days. I have a feeling it might interfere with my weekend plans. Oh dear. :|
Anyway:
Currently reading: The Shadow of Vesuvius: A Life of Pliny by Daisy Dunn. Biography of both Pliny the Elder and Pliny the Younger. About 1/3rd of the way through it now and finding it very interesting, especially of course the parts that deal directly with the Mount Vesuvius eruption, which the younger Pliny observed from a distance and the elder Pliny raced directly into (fatally).
Reading next: The Decent Inn of Death by Rennie Airth. Murder mystery. Unsure of the details beyond that. Part of a series, so if I like it, I might chase down the rest.
Also reading next: In the Shadow of Vesuvius by Tasha Alexander. Murder mystery; a body is discovered in the ruins of Pompeii. I'll confess that I picked it up due to having almost the exact same title as the Pliny biography.
