The never-ending saga of tidying up
Things discovered while cleaning my closet:
-$5 in change
-A rubber bat
-My Little Pony magnets
-A long ponytail of my own hair
-4 pairs of shoes that fit
-4 pairs of dress shoes that fit but I wouldn't want to wear for long
-1 pair of Converse sneakers that do not fit
-A collected volume of Storm Constantine's Wraeththu trilogy
-One deck of Fushigi Yuugi playing cards
-5 duotangs full of my fanfiction
-2 GLAY CDs
-Miscellaneous unlabelled burned CDs that I'm going to have to check out later
-The warranty for a computer I bought in 2008
-A roadmap of Scotland (bonus: I have never been to Scotland and do not intend to go in the future)
-A very large Norwegian flag
-Two boxes of Prismacolour pencils
...And much, much more.
Keep in mind that I "cleaned this up" earlier this year. /cough
Oh boy. Some of this is going in the bin, some of this is getting recycled (I keep the handwritten drafts of my recent fics, but I really don't need the ones from 2009, do I?) and some is going to the secondhand. ...But I'm probably going to keep more things than I really need for the time being. I don't need eight pairs of shoes, but I have a thing I need to go to in August, want to keep my options open, pfff.
...I am definitely going to re-read Wraeththu. I don't know if I would like it now, and I'm really curious! When I was a teenager, it hit my id so fucking hard, man.
Also: I've mentioned before, but I'll mention again, Marie Kondo's suggestion of storing one or two bags/purses inside the other is great. It helps them keep their shape, and it frees up a bit more space. I have a few messenger bags in there, and man, it really helps to store them nested like that.

I'm so glad you found this and not some stranger in the long distant future, because finding someone else's hair is a bit nightmarish.
When you find art supplies, isn't it like shopping all over again? I get this with yarn, also. "I'm going to the yarn shop!" I say, as I go to my craft room for a rummage.

This Wraeththu world (I've never heard of it before now) looks super neat! Keep us posted if it's as good as you remember. :D

And YES, big +1 to it being like shopping... Man, I feel like I should draw something with these. I also found two sketchbooks that were hardly used at all; maybe I should take it as a Sign.

I have a vague impression that the Wraeththu series was sort of proto-omegaverse, so, uh, it'll be really interesting to revisit it and see just what I think of it now. xD

They were my introduction to Japanese music too! I still really like them.

I hope you find some neat stuff on the unlabeled CDs - I always do when I go poking through mine.

The CDS were actually mostly blank, except for one, which contained over 2000 AIM logs of conversations with my ex. INTO THE BIN WITH YOU.
