It depends on the small fandom! The two that I offered got a lot of interest, but they are active. In general though I feel like if there's something that you're into, it doesn't hurt to offer it. xD
As for how much direction the story got - it depends on the bidder. One of them gave me a pretty detailed summary of what they wanted the story to be. Another wanted a rarepair, gave me ideas of how she sees them, and then threw out a few very vague scenarios ("cozy downtime together? maybe some smut??" lol)
Another one gave me a few different scenarios to choose from, and after I picked one of them, we did some back-and-forth for more details about what kind of story she wanted.
