✿ Still reading The Silmarillion, still nowhere near done, so I won't do a Reading Wednesday post tomorrow. But anyway, I'm still enjoying it. The story of Lúthien and Beren is probably my favourite of the stories in it so far, and I can see myself re-reading that section on its own in the future. I also like Beleg Strongbow a lot, and I was pretty upset at some of the things that went down concerning him in the story of Túrin Turambar. This thing is getting me in the mood to read sagas, and I think I have some stuffed in a box somewhere that I haven't read yet, so that's good.

✿ Work is slow as molasses this week, and will probably be the same next week. I am dying of boredom and seriously considering taking fewer hours so that I can stay at home and do nothing rather than go to work and twiddle my thumbs. On the one hand, I can afford to stay home. On the other hand, it would be a bad habit to get into. We shall seeee....

✿ That Hetalia + Mad Max crossover story that I posted a few days ago has received more comments, kudos, and bookmarks in that period of time than any of my fics would usually get in an entire year. ?! I'm very happy, and pretty surprised. I guess the secret to response is to write fic that involves a currently-popular movie canon... Not that I'm about to start changing primary fandoms, mind you. Though I did start writing some other MMFR stuff - not crossover this time - but the characters are proving very difficult to write, so I don't know if I'll go anywhere with it.

✿ One of my mates was grumbling about how rare one of our shared rarepairs is, and I was like I AGREE, and then... we decided to do a fic trade. :D Should be fun. This is something I've always wanted to do but never found quite the right time or person to do it with, so it'll be nice to give it a try.

✿ It's possible that I will have next week entirely to myself, as my parents are planning to go on vacation. I hope things will turn out as planned. It'll be nice to have some peace and quiet.
